Screw Machine Operator/Set-Up
(Hampton, NH)
SUMMARY: Operate Swiss CNC screw machines to produce small, high-precision parts in a high-volume production environment. You will monitor machine performance, inspect parts, maintain tooling using Swiss grinding equipment, and ensure all parts meet quality requirements. Training is available for candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Advancement opportunities are available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Run Swiss CNC screw machines using part drawings, setup/work instructions, and guidance from supervision.
- Review part drawings and work orders to understand dimensions, tolerances, and production requirement.
- Start machines, observe operation, and inspect first-piece and in-process parts.
- Measure parts using precision tools to ensure they meet print and quality requirements.
- Make machine adjustments, including wear offsets and tool changes, as needed.
- Identify, sharpen, and replace worn cutting tools.
- Replenish feed material as required.
- Follow the Quality Plan and inspection schedules to maintain product integrity.
- Record production counts and inspection results accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate issues, concerns, and improvement ideas to supervisor.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS: The individual must possess the following qualifications:
- PosWillingness to learn Swiss CNC machining and quality inspection processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to read and understand part drawings and work instructions. (training available).
- Basic math skills and comfort working with varying units of measurements. (i.e. Inches/mm).
- Ability to use or learn precision measuring tools (micrometers, microscopes, optical comparators, etc.)
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- CNC machining experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with tight-tolerance parts (±0.0005”) is a plus.
- Prior use of precision measurement equipment is helpful.
- Mechanical aptitude and manufacturing experience will be considered.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- High-precision manufacturing and metal fabrication environment.
- Exposure to machining equipment, tooling, and inspection equipment.
